The Alaska IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (AK INBRE) provides awards for research projects in the biomedical and health sciences to improve researcher competitiveness for winning ongoing, independent support for their research and graduate student training programs. AK INBRE’s theme focuses on interfaces among the environment, behavior, health and disease in people and animals in Alaska. Pilot research grants can support any compelling topic in basic, translational, or clinical biomedical research, but projects that align with these research focus areas in considering Alaska’s environment, populations, and exposures will be given priority. Proposals should also demonstrate how funding will expand the principal investigator’s professional development.
